Happy President's Day!

Monday, February 21st was President's Day.  4K talked about two important presidents from the past: George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  We looked at both the similarities and differences from the times when they were president to our present day, and we also completed projects to connect with both presidents.  See our "serious president" faces below. :)

2. Candy Heart Structure Building - how tall can you make it using hearts and popsicle sticks?

3. Olympic Curling using bottle tops, magnets and clay.

4. Olympic Skating using skaters, a drawn maze and magnets.

Mystery Readers!

Our class welcomed 2 very sweet Mystery Readers!  Alex's two sisters, Maddy and Gwenny joined our classroom and read us two terrific stories that were favorites of Alex.  Gwen read, I Wish.... and Maddy read, There was an Old Mermaid who Swallowed a Shark!  Both stories were engaging and fun for all friends.  What made this an extra special visit was that both girls were once 4K friends with Mrs. Gajafsky. :) It's hard to believe they are now in 3rd and 2nd grade.
It was so much fun to have them.
