Dot Day is coming......

 Dot Day is Thursday, September 30th!  We will be reading the story, Ten Black Dots, making a dot project and dressing with polka dots!  We hope your child will join in the fun by finding their best outfit with dots.

Literacy Links

 

Literacy Links is a special song that we practice daily to help us learn our letters and their sounds.  Along with singing, we have a book that we use that has the letter and picture in it.

The Literacy Links song incorporates movement,
visual and auditory senses to help make solid connections
between phonemic awareness, sound-symbol relationships and letter formation.

Making 4K Memories - September

Star Coloring

 

This week we learned the rules of Star Coloring!  In 4K we take our time in order to to follow 3 Star Coloring Rules:

Color in the lines 

Use colors that make sense with the picture

No white spaces in pictures.

We have been practicing Star Coloring all week and your 4Ker is very excited to show you at home!

Brain Breaks

 

Movement in 4K is essential to build our stamina and get us more ready for sitting and learning.  In 4K, we have brain breaks built into every part our learning.  Some of our brain breaks include: counting while moving like animals or insects (some already favorites are bunnies, kangeroos and butterflies!), a quick stand up and wiggle break, a familiar song (Wheels on the Bus) or a 4K favorite is dancing or moving by following along to GoNoodle.  GoNoodle incorporates music and motion through quick engaging videos.  Friends love GoNoodle and are always excited to learn a new song/dance each day. Be sure to ask your 4K dancer what they like best. :)

Please be sure to let me know if your child's normal transportation plans home will change due to the Early Release. Thanks!

Backpack Tags

 

On the first days of school, Paw prints were added to your child's backpack.  The paw prints are a visual to your child (and teachers!) of how students go home daily.

Yellow: Bus

Blue: Parent Pickup/Walk

Red: YMCA 

Please make sure they are correct!  And thanks for remembering to send a note if your child has a change in transportation.
